I wanted to take some time out to mark a very special occasion; Raquel, aka Rocky, aka *Rocky-O, my good friend and talented co-founder of

, recently became a mother (‼) The mother of a beautiful, healthy baby boy named Rafael. :>

Likewise, my equally valued and talented comrade, Miguel - her husband - has become a father. ♫ Way to make it through the tough moments and come out with a miracle, both of you. Quite the journey you two will be embarking on...!

I originally considered tying this occasion with Rocky's Heroes & Bandits, but thought better of it. XD; At least Miguel's sporting one of his swell hats...?

I am on the verge of tears. Why is this so hard? I think furiously, twirling the cylinder of Chapstick around in my fingers. I shut my eyes tight and try again.
I reach out to set the Chapstick on the nightstand beside my bed, but seconds after I release the tube I have to grab it again. Wrong, the brain wasps tell me, you have to get it just right.
I briefly consider hurling the thing across the room, but I know that I’ll just have to get out of bed to pick it up again. I am trapped in my own compulsions.
