LE - Interesting...? Claus??

Yeah this was *supposed* to be done by Valentines Day. XD; But more importantly, it's Last Exile fanart and everyone needs more of that. ^_^

Lavie: Happy Valentine's Day, Claus! I got you a new canteen; they say it's 100% bulletproof.
Claus: Thanks, Lavie. Here, I got you a new ledger for your flight notes; they say it can survive a fall from 2,000 feet.
Lavie: Wow, that's something! ...y'know, I gotta say it's kinda awkward having to exchange Valentine presents like this between friends, but then with all our friends in Norkia and us on the Sylvana, it'll have to do. ;D
Alvis: Um.. excuse me, Claus?
Claus: Yes, Al?
Alvis: Is it true on Valentine's Day you're supposed to give gifts to people you care most about?
Claus: Yeah, I think that's how it goes.
Alvis: Oh. H-here! I made this in the ship's galley.
Lavie: Looks tasty. You're becoming quite a baker, Al!
Alvis: Thank you. ^~; I was trying to make one for you too ...but it didn't rise correctly. 6.6
Lavie: Aw, that's okay—
Alister: There you are, Claus.
Claus/Lavie/Alvis: ...?
Alister: I'm due for a briefing in 0500; could you... um, look over the secondary claudia manifold on Heavy Cargo #2? Here's a... new set of tools for you.
Lavie [raises eyebrow]: That looks awfully small for a toolbox ...and it's all wrapped up like a gift.
Alister: W-why, yes it is! Very exquisitely crafted tools, hehe.
Claus: Well thanks, Miss Allister. I'll take care of-
Dio: IMMELMANN~!
Alvis [nearly run over]: ...!!
Claus: Wh-what's up, Dio...?
Dio: I heard today's a special day of celebration. People give presents and spread happiness wherever they go~!
Lavie: Uh...
Dio: So without further ado, my token of appreciation to my ever-steadfast handler, Immelmann~!
Gale: Well, well, if THAT'S how we're gonna play this little game I think I'd better throw in my chips while the going is good.
Alvis [tilts head]: Throw them where?
Claus: Aha- this really is too much... ^_^;
Tatiana: Valca...! I require a minute with- oh, uh, you're occupied right now.
Lavie: I'll say he is.
Alister: Tatiana, is that a *gift* for Claus you're hiding behind your back?
Tatiana: N-
Alister: That's so sweet of you. ^^
Dio: Not as sweet as mine, I'll bet~
Tatiana [to no one in particular]: Okay, maybe this wasn't a good idea...
Gale [chuckle]: Seeing as we're all here, why don't we all give Claus a hearty show of compassion and be on our separate ways?
Sophia: Yes. That would be most prudent.
Tatiana: Vice-Captain? o_o;
Lavie: Huwha?
Claus [very quietly]: Ehehehe.....
Sophia: Well, let's get it over with, people.
Dio/Alvis/Alister/Gale/Sophia/Tatiana [murmur]: HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, CLAUS~!!

Lavie: Claus, you gigolo. T_T

(Long ranting ahead! :3)

Well, what can I say? Claus is choice piece of ass according to a whopping sum of Last Exile characters. ^^

I'm totally dead-set on Claus×Lavie, Tatiana×Alister, Dio×Luciola. Also! Sophia needs to stop stalking Alex and go be with Vincent, Gale needs to date people his *own* age, and Alvis just needs to avoid getting molestered by The Maestro. XD;;;

All these not-quite-canon pairings that were hinted at with Claus tend to make me wince - except maybe Claus×Alister - that one's kinda sweet in the Cloud×Jessie-from-FF7 sorta way. And anything that reminds me of Cloud×Jessie is automatically and inherently GOOD.

What's funny about this picture is how I put a little bias on Dio×Claus, but that is actually one of my LEAST favorite LE pairings. Because it just implies neglect towards Luciola. And that's bad. T_T

Personally I think Claus ultimately no-sells *all* those characters and just goes back to the same platonic happiness he always had with Lavie. ;D
